To reach South Tyrol by plane, there are direct flights to Bolzano as well as flights to Venice, Treviso, Verona and Bergamo. Other nearby airports include Innsbruck (Austria) and Munich (Germany).
By train
The German (DB) and Austrian (OBB) rail systems offer comfortable and affordable train service from Bologna, Verona and Venice. Service as far as Brunico, with connections in Fortezza.
By car
From Bolzano:
Take the A22 motorway (‘Autostrada del Brennero’) to the ‘Bressanone/Val Pusteria’ exit. From the exit, follow state road SS49-E66 for 30 km to Brunico, then 42 km to Valdora and finally 43 km to San Vigilio.
From Venice:
Take A27 (‘Autostrada 27 Alemagna’) toward Treviso, continuing until the motorway ends. Then take ‘SS 51 Alemagna’ toward Tai di Cadore. Continue on ‘SS51’ through Cortina to Dobbiaco. From Dobbiaco take ‘SS49-E68’ to Brunico (63 km from Cortina to Brunico).
